Modernization of Slotting Machine 7414 Stankoimport
The comprehensive modernization of the 7414 Stankoimport slotting machine involved a complete replacement of the electrical and power control systems, along with a major overhaul of the hydraulic unit. The control system was rebuilt using a state-of-the-art PLC and precision servo drives, significantly improving the machine's dynamics and positioning accuracy. From the original components, only the main drive unit for the ram stroke – a 75 kW DC motor – was retained.
Technical Hardware Configuration:
- ✓ Main Drive System: Mentor MP 210A4R (Control Techniques Nidec) thyristor drive, Un=3x400V, In=210A. Four-quadrant regenerative unit controlling the 75 kW DC motor.
- ✓ Feed Drives: Advanced Unidrive M servo controllers paired with high-torque Unimotor HD synchronous motors on the X, Z, and B axes.
- ✓ Control Unit: Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500F safety PLC. Distributed I/O architecture based on high-speed Profinet industrial Ethernet.
- ✓ Human-Machine Interface (HMI): Delta DOP-100 panel. Features include motion parameter setting, full system diagnostics, process visualization, and real-time axis position monitoring.
- ✓ Feedback Systems: High-precision linear encoders on X, Y, Z, and B axes, ensuring closed-loop control.
- ✓ Technical Infrastructure: Two-section control cabinet assembly (2000x1600x500 + 2000x1200x500) with active thermal management (ventilation/heating). Complete replacement of cabling and cable management systems.
- ✓ Hydraulics & Lubrication: New hydraulic power unit (HPU) with solenoid valve manifolds and a fully automated central lubrication system.
Engineering Scope of Work:
- ✓ Development of full electrical documentation in EPLAN Electric.
- ✓ Prefabrication of control systems and on-site machine integration.
- ✓ Programming, control loop tuning, technical commissioning, and production trials.
